Stop Loss Official Teaser Trailer

Kimberly Peirce -the maker of Boys Don't Cry in 1999-, is back: on March 28, 2008 she will deliver Stop Loss.
Stop Loss is about a soldier, Brandon, who gets back home in Texas after servicing for the US Army in Iraq. Unfortunately for him Uncle Sam calls him back to duty: and Brandon isn't exactly happy with it...

Here the trailer:

Here the plot:
"Decorated Iraq war hero Sgt. Brandon King makes a celebrated return to his small Texas hometown following his tour of duty. Brandon tries to resume the life he left behind with the help and support of his family and his best friend, Steve Shriver, who served with him in Iraq. Alongside their war-time buddies, Brandon and Steve try to make peace with civilian life. Then, against Brandon's will, the Army orders him back to duty in Iraq. This upends Brandon's entire world. The conflict into which he is thrown tests everything he believes in: the bond of family, the loyalty of friendship, the limits of love, and the value of honor." (source: production)

You may think that it's one more war movie. But I think such movies are healthy for our society: the series of war movies we had since the Iraq War has started show that the civil society doesn't wait 20 years to start questioning.
Besides Kimberly Peirce is a really talented director, so thumb up for Stop Loss!

If you want to know more about this movie you should check out www.stoplossmovie.com/SoundOff

You can watch videos made by soldiers, comment on them, and even ASK KIMBERLY PEIRCE, the director, questions about the film.

Check it out -- I think it's a pretty cool idea.
